The California Gang Investigators Association was founded in 1977 to foster better relationships and networking among the various investigative units working street gangs in Los Angeles County and throughout the state of California. Over the years the Association has grown to include members across the nation and in France, Australia, and Canada. Membership is limited to all law enforcement officers including corrections, prosecutors, parole, and probation.
